SUMMARY:Corridor H Public Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Show your support for the Northern Route (BAA2) at the Corridor H public meeting on Tuesday\, February 27 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Tucker County High School!  \nResidents and friends of Tucker County will have the opportunity to view updated maps of the northern routing for Corridor H and ask representatives from the West Virginia Division of Highways and Federal Highway Administration questions about the proposed project. No formal presentation will be made. \n \nBACKGROUND: Early in February\, the WV Division of Highways and Federal Highway Administration informed the public that the official environmental review process for the Parsons to Davis Section of Corridor H has begun. \nThis review must include an analysis of alternate routes. In this case\, the Revised Original Preferred Alternative (ROPA) and the Blackwater Avoidance Alternative 2 (Northern Route). You can learn more about their evaluation and preparation of this environmental review—as well as what is and is not being considered—in our latest newsletter. \nMAKE YOUR VOICE HEARD: The WV Division of Highways is accepting public comments on the project until March 27\, 2024. The most effective comments are likely to address the impacts of one route versus the other. \nThe Allegheny-Blue Ridge Alliance has created a great resource featuring an interactive map to illustrate the impacts of the proposed routings on communities and the environment. \nComments can be made in person at the meeting\, online\, or by mail. View the WV Division of Highways’ notice and make your comment here.

SUMMARY:Save Our Solar Rally
DESCRIPTION:Join us on January 20\, 2024 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the State Capital to celebrate the benefits of solar for West Virginia. \nSolar is under attack by legislators and monopoly utilities that are leading the effort to change net metering rules—important policies that ensure solar is economically viable and accessible to all consumers. We cannot let this happen. \nCommunity solar and net metering are important to West Virginians\, we want a sustainable future and fair compensation for the power we produce. \nThis indoor/outdoor event will include speakers from the industry\, decision makers\, and solar customers\, as well as advocacy training and the chance to speak face-to-face with key decision makers. Music and limited refreshments will be provided. Register now to participate in ride sharing or catch one of our buses from across the state! We hope to see you there. \nPlease register for the event here.
