Mark Your Calendars -- Summer Board Meeting

July 8th

The West Virginia Highlands Conservancy summer board of directors meeting will be held Saturday, July 8th, 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM., at Shot Cherry Cabin near Spruce Knob Lake.

Agenda items will include consideration of an application for an organizational seat on the WVHC board from Plateau Action Network, updates on important recent water quality developments, and possibly a discussion of political reactions to WVHC's recent advertising about Blackwater Canyon preservation efforts.

Some WVHC folks are staying overnight at Shot Cherry Cabin on Friday and / or Saturday nights. This deluxe cabin has 2 large bunk rooms that sleep about 10 people each and a kitchen that can be used to prepare food for lots of folks. This is not an official WVHC "review", as we have in the spring and fall, but it looks to be a fun weekend at a cool mountain cabin on a usually hot July weekend.

For information on availability of beds and on a hike or two being organized for that weekend contact : Dave Saville at
