November 14 (Sunday) -- public hearing before Judiciary Subcommittee A on quarries at 2:00 PM at the US Fish and Wildlife Conservation Training Center in Shepherdstown.

November 15 -- Quarry tour from 1:00 to 5:00 PM. Open to the public. If the tour bus is filled up, then cars can follow it.

November 18 -- EPA meeting on the technical projects being done in association with the Mountain Top Mining EIS from 8:30 to 5 at the WV Department of Environmental Protection office in Nitro. Since seating will be limited, if you or someone you know would like to attend please contact Dave Vande Linde at (304) 759-0510 or fax (304) 759-05278. The intent of the meeting is a technical review of the projects associated with the EIS on Mountain Top Mining and Fills.

Experts from the industry and environmental communities are being invited to participate in the all-day meeting to review progress on the studies. A summary of the results will be provided in EIS Bulletin 4.

November 19 thru 21 - the Religious Campaign for Forest Conservation’s national meeting will be held at Blackwater Falls State Park. There will be featured speakers, plus sessions around planning actions for the year 2000 campaign to get logging banned on public lands in all 50 states. November 29 -- public hearing 7 PM at the Environmental Quality Board office, 1615 Washington Street East, Charleston regarding the alternatives for Category/Public A (that's your drinking water!). November 29 thru ? – World Trade Organization world conference. Seattle, Washington. This is a critically important conference to see if the mega- corporations continue to take over the world, or if they can be stymied in some way.
